Omeida Chinese Academy and BRIC Language Systems have teamed up to provide you with a combined Chinese language and cultural program like no other; you can experience life in China’s most exhilarating city, Shanghai, then relax in the scenic countryside of Yangshuo. Tours feature intensive Mandarin Chinese language courses, exciting cultural experiences, travel to some of the area’s most famous attractions, meals and accommodation! Learning Mandarin Chinese has never been more fun or exciting!
Language Course
Students will take part in our intensive Mandarin Chinese courses, with an opportunity to take online classes prior to leaving home and then face-to-face lessons upon arrival in China.
Optional Mandarin Chinese online classes will commence during the week immediately prior to landing in China. This allows students to form a solid base of Mandarin skills and feel more comfortable to “hit the ground running.”
The second part of the Mandarin lessons will take place in China, first in Shanghai then in Yangshuo. Students will leave China with strong knowledge of the Chinese language and culture.
Tourist Attractions and Activities
1 WEEK IN SHANGHAI – China’s preeminent city!In addition to learning Chinese, students will acquire a great understanding of Shanghai itself! Includes visits to various hot spots, such as YuYuan Garden, Shanghai Museum, People’s Park and People’s Square, Nanjing Road, Urban Planning Center, Xintiandi, Tianzifang, and more.
In addition to exploring Shanghai – China’s most exciting city — students will also have a day trip, with an option of venturing out to see one of the Yangtze River Delta’s most historic cities or gaining some insight on how business works in China with a local business tour. The program also includes two delicious dinners – one to welcome you to the Paris of the East, and another to say farewell!
WEEK IN YANGSHUO – nestled between picturesque Chinese mountains!Afternoons will be dedicated to exploring Yangshuo’s beautiful surroundings and learning about Chinese culture. Activities include Tai Chi, cycling in the countryside, bamboo rafting, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese cooking, and rock climbing.
As well as discovering Yangshuo — China’s most scenic town — a day trip to nearby ancient fishing village, Xingping, will give students the opportunity to explore the cobbled streets and scenic surroundings of a place that was once the largest town along the Li River. There are a number of optional hikes including to the top of Mount Lao Zhai Shan for magnificent views of the river and surrounding mountains.
Experiencing two diverse locations in China will provide students with valuable insight into one of the world’s oldest civilizations and fastest growing economies.
